Our Story
In the early 1970s, our founder Tim McCool began hand-building custom exhaust systems for motorcycles out of his garage under the name T&M Engineering. His dedication to craftsmanship quickly earned a reputation among riders who wanted better performance and attention to detail you couldn’t find in mass-produced parts at the time.
Though Tim knew he had something good going, early on he established a pattern of re-investing his resources to drive even greater future success.
In 1977, to keep up with increasing demand, Tim McCool would found Cobra Engineering, lease a warehouse, and start to gather a team that would drive his future success.
Then, in 2001, as Cobra Engineering continued to grow, he would go on to build a 85,000 sqft manufacturing facility from the ground up in Yorba Linda, California.
